About Hold On To Your Butts

This physical comedy show is a shot-for-shot parody of the classic dinosaur blockbuster film. Two actors and a foley artist recreate the entire movie live on stage, using only household objects, cheap toys, and their own bodies to represent everything from the tropical storm to the prehistoric creatures. Created by the Recent Cutbacks theater company, the production relies on mime, fast-paced physical humor, and inventive sound effects to capture the cinematic scale of the original story in an intimate theatrical setting.

Audiences watch as iconic moments, from the water glass vibrating to the terrifying chase sequences, are recreated with hilarious simplicity. The show developed a reputation for its high-energy performances and clever low-budget stagecraft. Anyone comparing hold on to your butts tickets will find a lighthearted, nostalgic comedy that celebrates the magic of live performance and the power of imagination, making it a favorite for fans of the original adventure and inventive fringe theater alike.
