About Monterey Pre-Reunion & Corkscrew Hillclimb

This historic motorsport gathering serves as the official prologue to the classic car racing week on the Monterey Peninsula. It began as a way for drivers of vintage racing cars to get valuable track time and tune their machines before the main competitive events. Spectators witness a massive field of authentic, period-correct sports cars and open-wheel racers competing on the challenging road course. Finding Monterey pre-reunion & corkscrew hillclimb tickets allows fans to wander the open paddocks, speak with owners, and hear the roar of historic engines up close.

The event also features the dramatic shootout where drivers tackle the iconic, steep drop of the multi-story corkscrew turn in reverse, racing uphill against the clock. This hillclimb challenge grew out of a desire to celebrate the track's most famous elevation change in a unique, competitive format. Visitors can stand along the hillside to watch rare Can-Am, Trans-Am, and formula cars fight for traction up the dusty incline, creating a sensory experience filled with the smell of castor oil and the sound of vintage horsepower.
