About Shear Madness
This long-running comedy whodunit takes place entirely inside a bustling unisex hair salon, where the landlady living upstairs is suddenly murdered. The show is unique because the audience plays a central role in solving the crime. Theatergoers must question the suspects, track the clues, and help the detectives reconstruct the evening. Because the crowd decides the outcome, the ending changes at every single performance. Fans looking to join the investigation can use this site to compare shear madness tickets across different marketplaces.
The production originated from a serious German play written by Paul Pörtner, which was later adapted into an interactive comedy by Bruce Jordan and Marilyn Abrams. It has since earned a spot in the record books as one of the longest-running non-musical plays in American theater history. The script is constantly updated with local humor, topical jokes, and spontaneous improvisation. Anyone searching for shear madness tickets will find listings for a night of fast-paced, hilarious detective work where the audience holds the power.
