About The Smartest Giant In Town
This musical stage adaptation brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's beloved children's book to life. The story follows George, a friendly giant who decides to update his look with some smart new clothes. However, on his way home, he encounters various animals in desperate need of help. George selflessly gives away his new possessions, piece by piece, to assist his new friends. Families looking for the smartest giant in town tickets will discover a heartwarming tale about generosity, friendship, and community spirit.
The production uses puppetry, collaborative storytelling, and lively original music to capture the whimsical atmosphere of the original picture book. Co-produced by Fierylight and Little Angel Theatre, the stage show features beautifully crafted puppet animals, from a cold giraffe needing a scarf to a wet mouse needing a house. The gentle pacing and clear narrative make it an ideal first theatrical experience for very young children, who can easily follow George's transformation from a scruffy giant into the kindest giant in the forest.
