5th Avenue Theatre

The 5th Avenue Theatre brings a striking slice of East Asian architectural history to the heart of downtown Seattle. Built as a vaudeville house and film palace, the venue features an extraordinarily ornate interior inspired by traditional Chinese palaces, complete with a massive ceiling dragon and detailed plasterwork modeled after the Forbidden City. Today, the historic auditorium operates primarily as a producing house for musical theatre, offering a proscenium stage with excellent acoustics and clear sightlines that make it a favourite for theatregoers who compare 5th avenue theatre tickets to find their preferred view.

Attending a performance here feels like stepping into a gilded, theatrical time capsule. The grand lobby and opulent auditorium create a sense of occasion before the house lights even dim, while the venue itself is celebrated for launching major Broadway-bound productions.
